We were so impressed with Ron's inspection. He spent 3 hours with us in an organized fashion, looking at minute details. He was inspecting an older home and took the time to teach us details about how it was built. He also included proper maintenance tips. This was my 2nd home inspection and Ron really impressed compared to the 1st experience. His report was thorough with great pictures. I highly recommend Ron Miller Inspections.

We Highly Recommend
As a 1st time homebuyer with no handy skills we had no idea what to expect out of an inspection. Ron took the time to give tips and honest feedback. He walked us thru the inspection, explaining what he was looking for & he encouraged questions. We did not feel like the inspection was rushed or that we were a hindrance to Ron, rather we felt actively engaged and even empowered! We feel like the tips and feedback Ron provided helped us determine projects we can attempt and projects beyond our ability.

We have worked with other home inspectors in the past and they did not come close to doing the job that Ron did. Very thorough and very informative. He took his time and explained everything to us in plain talk. We do recommend Ron Miller Inspections LLC.

We would highly recommend Ron Miller to anyone! We had made phone
calls to others prior to being referred to Ron and not one compared to his
service before the inspection even occurred. Being 1st time home buyers
and hearing about others that had not so good inspections from other companies
we were very nervous but Ron did a OUTSTANDING job on the inspection. He
is very detailed about every inch of the home, took his time, and encouraged
questions as he guided us through the inspection process. After the inspection
I got a detailed report and yet days later Ron is still willing to answer any
questions and help out. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone! Thanks so much
Ron for making our first experience as a home buyer a great one!

Ron arrived early for the inspection on Jan 31. He noticed many small details inside and outside of the house. He was efficient, thorough, and took time to explain things. He teaches the home inspection course for MATC - I expect he is an excellent instructor. He took time to explain what my future costs would be for repairs. Of the 4 principles in the home buying process - inspector, seller, real estate agent and lender, only Ron Miller, the inspector, was honest with me. The realtor did not want me to have radon testing, but I said yes. After I drove away from making the offer, the realtor called and said someone else was making an offer - I should offer more, remove the radon contingency, and make other considerations easier so my offer was accepted. I went along with her suggestions because the market has been tight. Ron suggested radon testing, I said yes. The realtor then had to get special permission from the seller because it wasn't on the offer. The radon was high, and the realtor knew it would be because she sells many homes in DeForest. But because she desperately wanted me to leave it off the offer, I would now be stuck with the cost to fix. Both the seller and realtor were not honest about other things. The seller said all windows had been replaced. Ron pointed out the windows that had not been replaced, the leaks, and the poor quality of those that had been replaced. Each window he opened had a problem, pieces falling off. Ron pointed out the facts. I plugged the basement toilet with a small piece of toilet paper. Ron tried to unplug it. The towel rack fell off to my touch. Ron found open hot wires in the basement ceiling. I assumed all kitchen stove fans blew air outdoors. Ron pointed out the fan was circulating the air back into the kitchen. I did not buy the house. The entire experience was swimming with sharks, except for Ron, who saved me from making a costly mistake in buying that house. I had been told the mechanicals had been replaced since the house was built, but Ron pointed out when they would need replacement again and how much. Based on his sharing of knowledge I knew I'd be working to age 95 to support it. If I do buy something else, Ron Miller will definitely do the inspection.
Ron has my permission to post this on his site. It shows I was naive in even semi-trusting the realtor, but it is time to payback the many who give Internet reviews and save others from making mistakes.
